JOB TITLE: Branding Iron Copy Editor

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide editing, proofing and page design supervision of newspaper copy before publication

JFNTMP

• Edit all copy prepared for composition.
• Design and paginate pages for newspaper.
• Proof all copy after composition.
• Meet daily with editor or managing editor for consultation and assignment.
• Maintain regular office hours as assigned by assistant editor.
• Produce a minimum of two articles for publication each week.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Full-time student
• Minimum 2.5 GPA
• Newspaper experience, including writing news stories.
• Must be available to start work Aug. 18, 2025
• Must be available for publication deadlines on Sundays and Wednesday nights.
• Must be available Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for training.

• Prior newspaper production, including writing, proofing and editing
• Thorough knowledge of AP style and BI style.
