About The Role

The Commercial Loan Assistant I is responsible for assisting commercial lenders throughout First Bank of Wyoming with all aspects of the commercial lending process. We provide loan support for standard, non-complex Commercial loans and assist with portfolio management, special projects, and assignments while adhering to and exemplifying our Core Values:

The entry rate for this position is $16.86 +/ (calculated for Sheridan, WY). Compensation varies based on location, experience, and education.

Essential Functions
  • Assist with commercial loans with non-complex details (unsecured, title/UCC collateral, simple entity structures, etc.) throughout the division.
  • Assist with loan closing preparation, communicating with third‑party business lines, pulling valuations on collateral, etc.
  • Request and review loan documents and ensure files are accurate and complete.
  • Accurately complete all necessary forms.
  • Facilitate collateral perfection filings and payment remittance.
  • Ensure closed loans are boarded promptly and documents are scanned or mailed to the correct location.
  • Make sure loans are properly funded and correct tickets are run.
  • Assist lenders with portfolio management tasks, including covenant and collateral tracking.
  • Work effectively with third‑party vendors, such as accountants, bookkeepers, county courthouse and title companies.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and display courteous, respectful behavior toward customers and coworkers, representing the bank professionally.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of similar or related experience.

Physical Requirements

Standard office duties. Ability to sit, use hands in repetitive motions, stand, walk, lift, and reach as required. Ability to climb or descend stairs in emergencies.

Specific Lifting Abilities

Up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 10 lbs constantly.

Specific Vision Abilities

Close visual acuity needed for data analysis, transcribing, computer usage, and visual inspection of small details.
