Wymondham College is a member of the Sapientia Education Trust (SET), an expanding multi‑academy trust with 13 primary and 9 secondary schools.

We are looking for a hard‑working and enthusiastic person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of our school as a Cleaner.

The responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, including tables, chairs, walls, doors, windowsills, windows, corridors, kitchen areas, and toilets in all school areas. During school holidays, deep cleaning covering all areas of the school is required.

• Previous cleaning experience is preferred, but we do offer on‑site training for the right person.

The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all school areas and spaces are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the College.

A non‑exhaustive list of specific responsibilities for the role is below and you will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

• Clean classrooms in allocated area, including floors, walls, doors, tables and chairs;
• Clean corridors;

• Ensure all areas (communal areas, dormitories, stairwells and corridors) are cleaned within the allocated times to high standard including;
• Vacuuming, damp mopping, scrubbing and buffing (inc carpet shampooing/deep cleaning during College holidays);
• Cleaning/dusting all furniture, fixtures and fittings;
• Cleaning all sanitary fittings;
• Assist lettings in the preparation of the boarding houses during non‑term time for conferences and events.

• Emptying bins and removing rubbish; taking to allocated point;
• Check that your area is safe before leaving;
• Adhere to all cleaning schedules and encourage others to do the same;
• Ensure cleaning cupboards are kept tidy;
• Maintaining cleanliness of cloths and mops;
• Reporting any problems/damages via CISS;
• Promoting Health & Safety within your area;
• Undertake any other reasonable duty as may be delegated.
