Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of procedures using various isotopes for the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Must be registered (or registry eligible) in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and/or The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire. Failure to obtain registry within designated timeframe will result in termination of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position.
Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
