Do you have experience of working with individuals experiencing homelessness?

Would you like to work in the centre of Cardiff
, assisting with achieving positive outcomes for clients?

We are searching for an Assistant Support Worker to work for an incredible charity that focuses on supporting the people who need them the most.

The basics
  • Contract:

    Permanent
  • SHIFT WORK - This will be a mix of days, mid and later afternoons (7am to 3.30pm / 8am to 4.30pm / 11.30am to 8pm / 10am to 6pm).
  • Occasional weekend work.
  • 40 hours per week
  • Equivalent to £25,542 per year
  • Full time position with the opportunity to progress to Support Worker and beyond

What will you do?
  • Support people experiencing homelessness
  • Provide high-quality programme support
  • Work with other services across Cardiff
  • Engage with some of hardest to reach groups
  • Refer to other relevant services (substance misuse, mental health, housing etc.)
  • Working 1-2-1 or in group settings
  • Carry and manage a small caseload
  • Assist with life skills and resettlement
What do we need?
  • You'll have experience of working within homelessness
  • A strong understanding of the support required by vulnerable people
  • Knowledge of trauma informed practice
  • Able to complete detailed support plans
  • The ability to manage risk
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and relevant procedures
  • Compassionate, caring and non-judgemental
  • Able to deal with difficult / challenging situations
  • A DBS on the live update service will be a distinct advantage
