Shift Technical Operator

In this role you will play a key part in keeping the production lines running smoothly, safely and efficiently. Working closely with Process Leaders and the Shift Management team to deliver high quality products and meet plant performance targets.

• Ensure Health and Safety compliance and policies are adhered to.
• Maintain safe working practices and comply with any legal, environmental and safety requirements and/or checks.
• Report and support safe repairs to equipment as required.
• Operate can manufacturing equipment to achieve plant KPI targets.
• Be trained and undertake GT100 & limited GT200 competency tasks to the required standard in the area working.
• Operate the equipment within their area of responsibility in such a condition that quality standards are maintained, and downtime is minimised.
• Carry out the required quality checks within their area of responsibility and take the necessary corrective actions, reporting any non‑conformities to the Process Leader and the relevant department.
• Use SPC tools (such as Infinity and APRISO) to ensure integrity of the can process is controlled.
• Maximise production and minimise spoilage during the manufacturing process.
• Maintain housekeeping to an exemplary standard and in a safe condition throughout the plant.
• Use of ancillary equipment (e.g. fork trucks following relevant official training) to perform production line or other duties.
• Perform hygiene, painting, and housekeeping duties as required or instructed.
• Support size changes and diameter changes.

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical engineering.
• Good written and verbal English.
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices.
• Experience of working on production machinery.
• Demonstrated ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail and to take appropriate recovery actions.
• A team‑player with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, able to work alone under their own initiative.
