Clwyd Alyn is looking for an experienced Housing Officer to join our Resident Services Team
. This is a community-based role with real responsibility: you’ll take ownership of your patch, build strong relationships with residents and partners, and deliver visible, high-quality housing management services that make a tangible difference every day.
You’ll spend much of your time visiting residents, supporting them to sustain their tenancies and thrive in safe, stable communities. Weekly team meetings will be held in Wrexham, and when not on your patch, you can work flexibly from home or hot desk locations. During your initial training period, more office-based attendance will help you embed into the role and systems.
Mileage is paid at 45p per mile from your nearest Clwyd Alyn hot desk.
What You’ll Be DoingNo two days are the same. You could be:
- Managing rent accounts and preventing arrears escalation
- Coordinating property allocations and managing voids
- Carrying out estate inspections and resolving local concerns
- Addressing anti-social behaviour with colleagues and partners
- Supporting safeguarding and preparing for case reviews or court
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and housing standards
- Representing Clwyd Alyn professionally in external forums, including court proceedings and case reviews
You’ll balance empathy with firm decision‑making, manage competing priorities, and handle challenging conversations, while seeing the real difference you make every day.
What We’re Looking ForYou’ll thrive if you:
- Build trust quickly and communicate confidently face-to-face
- Negotiate and make sound decisions under pressure
- Manage a busy, varied workload with professionalism
- Take a person‑centred approach while protecting organisational interests
Essential:
- Driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Housing Officer experience and/or housing qualification
- Experience in at least one of the following: voids & allocations, income collection/arrears support, estate management, or addressing resident concerns
Even if you don’t meet every criterion, we encourage you to apply — we value potential and transferable skills.

You’ll be supported by an experienced team, with access to professional development and flexible hybrid working arrangements to help you manage a busy workload effectively.

- Up to 8% matched pension contribution
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with option to buy/sell leave
