EVERYTHINGYOU NEED TO KNOW
Reducing leakage and managing the distribution network is a critical priority. This role leads the regional Leakage Targeting and Network Optimisation Teams, delivering high‑quality data‑driven insights for operational intervention. The manager oversees Demand and Network Optimisation Technicians, ensures a strong health and safety culture, clear performance metrics, and development of capability through consistent ways of working.
Working closely with regional peers, the manager optimises leakage targeting and pressure management activity, sets and manages DMA performance targets, and ensures resources, budgets and processes align to deliver operational commitments. The role is accountable for improving confidence in demand and consumption data, maintaining accurate system configuration and reporting, keeping contingency documents up to date, and embedding standardised operating procedures.
The manager also leads the development of new strategies, technologies and approaches to drive continued performance improvement and meet regulatory obligations.
What You’ll Bring ToThe Role
A full UK driving licence is required for travel to depots/bases.
We’re seeking a proven leader with:
experience developing technical teams in an operational environment
, a solid understanding of water networks, end‑to‑end water journey, leakage performance and regulatory obligations;
sound financial and commercial awareness including investment planning and the Periodic Review process;
continuous improvement focus and ability to influence outcomes across teams and stakeholders.
Strong data analysis, communication, stakeholder engagement, and resilience are essential. The role requires motivating geographically dispersed teams, making proportionate cost‑benefit decisions and delivering results through a structured approach.
