Our client is fast-growing, PE-backed professional services group and is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware Group Finance Manager to join its central finance function.
This is a high-impact role at the centre of a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction organisation experiencing continued acquisitive growth. The successful candidate will act as the Group’s technical accounting lead, partnering with senior finance and operational stakeholders to ensure robust IFRS compliance, high-quality reporting, and consistent accounting treatment across the business.
Alongside core financial reporting responsibilities, this individual will be the go-to technical expert for complex accounting matters and will play a leading role in acquisition accounting and group-wide finance projects.
Core responsibilities:
- Act as the Group’s subject matter expert on UK and EU IFRS matters.
- Provide clear guidance across the business on complex accounting topics.
- Prepare and review technical accounting papers for the Board and external auditors.
- Own the Group accounting policy manual and drive consistency across jurisdictions.
- Respond to internal technical queries from local finance teams across the UK and Europe.
- Lead purchase price allocation (PPA) exercises for acquisitions.
- Assess and document fair value adjustments, intangible asset recognition, and goodwill calculations.
- Support due diligence from an accounting perspective.
- Ensure seamless integration of acquired entities into Group reporting processes.
- Align accounting policies and reporting frameworks post-acquisition.
- Support the preparation and review of consolidated Group financial statements.
- Oversee technical disclosures and ensure IFRS compliance across reporting packs.
- Partner with regional finance teams to strengthen controls and reporting quality.
- Act as key contact for auditors on technical accounting matters.
- ERP system enhancements or roll-outs
- Standardisation of chart of accounts across jurisdictions
- Automation of group reporting processes
- Build strong relationships with country finance leads and operational stakeholders.
- Translate complex accounting issues into clear, practical guidance.
- Support commercial decision-making by explaining accounting implications of transactions.
- Provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice aligned to the Group’s growth strategy.
- Strong grounding in IFRS technical accounting and consolidation within a group environment.
- Experience in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction business.
- Proven acquisition accounting experience.
- Experience working in (or advising) a PE-backed or fast-growth environment.
- Comfortable drafting technical papers and liaising directly with auditors.
- Experience with in professional services or similar partnership-led models.
- Exposure to ERP or finance transformation projects.
- Commercially minded and pragmatic.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Hands-on and delivery-focused.
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Willing and able to travel regularly across the UK and Europe.
