Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant Wrexham £50,000 - £60,000

An excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business based in Wrexham, this role is a pivotal position within the organisation in order to understand and control relevant costs for the group.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will have an expectation of providing immediate support to finance and operations in a range of areas including;

• Prepare, analyse and maintain accurate product costing models, including standard, actual and variance costing
• Monitor and report on manufacturing costs, including materials, labour and overheads
• Analyse cost variances and work closely with production and operations teams to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes for manufacturing operations
• Maintain bills of materials and routings within the ERP system to ensure accurate cost data
• Assist with month-end close activities, including inventory valuation and cost-related journal entries
• Develop and improve cost control procedures and financial controls within the manufacturing environment
• Provide financial insight to support pricing decisions, profitability analysis and capital investment appraisals
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analysing cost-saving opportunities and process efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and company policies

Candidate profile;

• Qualified CIMA/ACCA ideally but QBE with relevant experience absolutely considered
• ERP systems experience
• Ideally strong excel skills
• Extremely high level of attention to detail
