This role is based on site in Wrexham - COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS:
Chester, Deeside, Oswestry, Ellesmere, Whitchurch, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Mold, Rhyl, Market Drayton, Nantwich, Runcorn, Liverpool
As our Mechatronic Engineer, you’ll design, develop and implement electrical control systems and automation solutions within an industrial environment. Working on site in Wrexham, you’ll be responsible for control panel design, PLC/HMI development, system integration, and technical documentation, ensuring solutions are compliant, efficient, and delivered to high engineering standards.
This role combines electrical design, automation programming, and hands: on technical problem:solving within a collaborative project environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical control systems, control panels, and industrial schematics
- Configure and test PLC and HMI applications (Keyence, Omron, Beckhoff or similar)
- Integrate sensors, actuators, drives, motion systems and industrial networks into complete automation systems
- Produce technical drawings, schematics, BOMs and supporting documentation using CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting and system optimisation activities
- Contribute to project planning, design reviews and delivery schedules
- Ensure all designs meet relevant electrical standards and safety requirements
To be successful in your application, you’ll need strong technical grounding in electrical and control systems engineering within an industrial or automation environment. You’ll enjoy working across multiple projects and taking ownership of delivering high:quality engineering solutions.
You Will Be Able To Demonstrate Experience With- Electrical control system design and control panel development
- PLC programming and HMI development (Keyence, Omron, Beckhoff or similar)
- Industrial automation systems, sensors, actuators and safety circuits
- Industrial communication networks (e.g. Ethernet/IP)
- CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
- A Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
