About The Role
Permanent Roles – East Coast, National - Onshore projects with Hybrid Working. The Offshore East Coast delivery team are seeking a Project Supervisor as part of The Great Grid Upgrade. You’ll be focused on our Eastern Green Link 3 project and should be accessible to our Walpole route end point. This project is scheduled for delivery in 2030 and is designed to reinforce 140 km of overhead lines to help transmit renewable energy across the UK.

You will have:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
- Awareness of NEC Contracts
- Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation, practices and policies.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Previous experience of project site management capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment.
- You’ll be able to show a passion for the world National Grid are building and the UK road to Net Zero.
Ideally also:
- NEBOSH / IOSH / SMSTS
- CQI / IRCA Quality In Construction Training
- Familiarity with standard contract terms and conditions i.e. FIDIC, BEAMA and NEC
Due to the location of the project you’ll need a full UK driver’s licence. A vehicle is provided.
What You’ll Do- Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is proactive in discharging his duties under the CDM regulations, not least in managing all safety aspects of the construction based activities.
- Facilitate regular site safety walks, hold coordination meetings with all contractors on site, ensure that access/egress to the site is controlled and maintain a site log/diary.
- Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Provide input to, review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes and proactively monitor all activities, promptly advising the EPC Project Manager of any programme risks.
- Ensure the PC is proactive in holding Site Progress Meetings and issues minutes of these meetings, keeping a file on site. Minutes and any relevant documentation as required by the project and EPC PM, including daily site reports, should be uploaded onto Livelink.
- Support Quality Assurance monitoring in the region.
- Be familiar with industry construction standards and be expected to inspect, approve or reject materials and workmanship.
- Undertake the role of sensible monitoring of site construction activities and be familiar with all aspects of the contract documentation.
- Act as the Employer’s ‘Supervisor’ under NEC contracts.
- Issue site instructions and authenticate any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor.
A competitive salary between £50,000–£56,000 – dependent on capability. A brand new hybrid or fully electric car is also provided.
