Overview

Applications are invited for the permanent full-time post of Clinical Fellow in Diabetes at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital, North Wales. This post is within the Diabetes and Endocrinology service with no out of hours on-call commitment. It is a 6-session job. If you have the appropriate qualifications and are keen to work in the field of Diabetes & Endocrinology, we will be delighted to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to work within a fully integrated multi-disciplinary team caring for a broad range of patients.

Main duties of the job

This post is a part-time post, and would be ideal for someone wishing to progress to D+E specialist training.

Proposed Job Plan

This is an example job plan and some flexibility is included. Aim will be to attend one clinic per week, which will vary each week depending on ward staffing, other service needs and the preference and experience of the successful candidate. There will be opportunities to take part in audit and potentially other projects to help strengthen experience.

  • Tuesday AM - Ward Round
  • Tuesday PM - Ward work or Endocrine Clinic
  • Wednesday AM - Ward Round
  • Wednesday PM - Ward work or diabetic foot/pregnancy clinic

There will also be some departmental teaching provided throughout the week.

Essential Criteria

  • Recent experience at Foundation Year 1 and 2 level or equivalent, and evidence of achievement of Foundation Competencies

Desirable criteria

  • MRCP 1 or further qualifications
