Location:

Wrexham (Full-time office based initially, with potential for hybrid working in the future)
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Overview
Our client is a well-established specialist contractor within the roofing and cladding sector, delivering high-quality façade and building envelope solutions across a wide range of commercial and industrial projects throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and an increasing pipeline of projects, our client is seeking a Roofing & Cladding Designer to join their team in Wrexham.

This role will involve producing detailed design drawings and technical information for roofing and cladding systems, supporting the wider design and project teams to ensure projects are delivered accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

* Producing detailed design drawings and 3D models for roofing, cladding, and façade systems.

* Developing construction drawings, layouts, and technical details based on architectural and structural information.

* Coordinating with Design Managers, project teams, architects, and engineers.

* Reviewing project specifications and ensuring design compliance with relevant standards and requirements.

* Assisting with design development from concept through to construction stages.

* Preparing technical documentation and supporting design submissions.

* Identifying potential design issues and proposing practical solutions.

* Supporting the project team during the installation phase where design clarification is required.

Requirements

* Previous experience as a Designer within roofing, cladding, façades, or the wider building envelope sector.

* Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD (Revit or other BIM software beneficial).

* Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

* Strong technical understanding of roofing and cladding systems and materials.

* Good communication and coordination skills.

* Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.

Desirable

* Experience working on commercial or industrial roofing and cladding projects.

* Familiarity with BIM processes and 3D modelling.

* Relevant construction, architectural, or engineering qualification.

Working Arrangements
The role is based in Wrexham and our client’s preference is for the successful candidate to work full-time in the office initially to support collaboration with the wider team. There is a view to introducing hybrid working once the individual is established in the role.
