Creative Editing Lead

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Creative Editing Lead to take ownership of short form video editing execution at GenHQ as we continue to scale.

This is a senior role combining high-level creative judgment, mixing Adobe After Effects and AI production. You will lead our editing team, maintain and elevate our creative standards, and oversee the execution of educational AI video projects from concept handoff through to final delivery, examples below:

The role is designed to remove the founder from day‑to‑day editing oversight while preserving the quality and distinctiveness of the brand. You will be responsible for ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence across all output. The founder is happy to teach AI creative skills, but this candidate should have some pre‑existing experience and interest.

Initially, the position will involve a significant amount of hands‑on editing. Over time, as the team expands, the balance will shift toward leadership, coordination, and creative oversight while remaining actively involved in production when required.

The role also requires assisting in building out the editing team. You will play a key role when the company is actively looking for new editors and being vigilant in scouting potential new talent, even when we’re not actively hiring.

We are looking for someone who brings both advanced technical Adobe After Effects skill and proven leadership capability.

As we continue to grow, social content remains central to our impact and reach. Maintaining the high creative standard in the industry at scale is critical to the next phase of our growth.

The Role

The Creative Editing Lead is responsible for owning the execution layer of our video production process.

Working directly with the founder, you will translate creative concepts into high‑quality, on‑brand output by leading the editing process from hand‑off through to final cut. You will act as the central point of coordination for all editors, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and consistency across projects.

This role is designed to remove the founder from day‑to‑day editing oversight while preserving the distinct creative standard that defines the brand. You will manage workflow, review execution, maintain quality control, and ensure deadlines are met.

Initially, the position will involve a significant amount of hands‑on editing. As the team grows, the balance will shift toward leadership, coordination, and creative oversight while remaining actively involved in production when required.
