Director of Nursing – Long-Term Care Facility

The Director of Nursing (DON) will oversee all nursing operations in a long-term care facility serving older adults. This hands‑on leadership role involves managing staff, ensuring high‑quality care, maintaining compliance, and supporting day‑to‑day operational management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all nursing staff across 3 shifts, supporting morale, professional development, and accountability
  • Oversee resident care, including assessments, admissions appropriateness, documentation, and incident management
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Support facility operations, including governance, policy updates, and staff hiring processes
  • Serve as a point of contact for families, tours, and admissions‑related discussions once fully onboarded
Skills & Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Minimum 3 years long‑term care experience; 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • Experience with geriatric care and multi‑shift nursing leadership
  • Knowledge of incident management, policy development, and documentation standards
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, email, messaging) and familiarity with EMR systems preferred
  • Familiarity with state systems:
    Virtual Gateway, vaccination tracking portals, Mass Mutual Aid Emergency Plan tools
  • Doctoral degree preferred, but extensive experience in LTC leadership accepted
  • Must be comfortable commuting to Wrentham, MA Monday‑Friday
