The Town of Wrentham is seeking a qualified Laborer or Light Equipment Operator in the Department of Public Works to perform manual and skilled labor in the operation of construction maintenance and repair of the town’s public ways, parks and cemeteries.

Duties include but are not limited to: Operate various vehicles and equipment such as trucks, tractors, street sweepers, small rollers, compactors, motor vehicles, snow plows, sanders, chainsaw, mowers, power saws, brush cutters, leaf blowers, collectors, paint machines, compressors, snow blowers, etc. Under supervisor direction, maintain grounds along public ways including trees, lawns, center strips, traffic islands, drainage structures and appurtenances, retention walls, curbing berm, waterways, etc.

Maintain roads, streets, sidewalks, drainage structures and parking areas. Perform light maintenance and servicing of equipment. Participate in all snow and ice activities. May assist with digging, preparing graves and maintaining cemetery grounds. All other duties as required.

Qualifications and

Experience:

High School Diploma, and one to three years of job related experience. The ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with all applicable endorsements and a 2B Hoisting License within probationary period is required. Ability to successfully pass Town of Wrentham background check and pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Salary: Full-time, Benefit eligible, Union position. Full salary range for Laborer (without required licenses) position is $24.17 - $31.54 with anticipated hiring hourly range of $24.17-$25.64. If/when all licenses are obtained (
Light Equipment Operator
), the anticipated hiring range is $26.29-$27.89 with a full salary range of $26.29-$34.30. Great benefits including a 4-day summer schedule
