Welder​/Fabricator

1. Welding & Fabrication

• Perform MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), or Flux-Core welding as required
• Weld structural steel components (beams, columns, braces, plates)
• Fabricate parts according to blueprints and shop drawings
• Cut, grind, and fit metal components before welding
• Ensure welds meet required specifications and codes

• Weld on structural steel during building erection
• Assist with installing steel frameworks and supports
• Perform field repairs on heavy equipment, trailers, or attachments
• Work at heights using lifts or scaffolding (when required)

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
• Follow engineering drawings and project specifications
• Measure and align components accurately

• Maintain welding machines and tools
• Inspect welding leads, torches, and gas connections
• Ensure proper storage of rods, wire, and gas cylinders

• Follow OSHA and company safety standards
• Wear required PPE (helmet, gloves, respirator, FR clothing)
• Maintain safe work practices around flammable materials
• Participate in safety meetings and training

• Move and position steel using cranes, forklifts, or rigging
• Assist with loading/unloading fabricated materials
• Maintain organized work areas

• Welding certification (AWS preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
• Strong knowledge of structural welding techniques
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights
