The Department of Public Safety (DPS), Division of Alaska State Troopers, is recruiting to fill Court Services Officer (CSO) positions across Alaska.
Salary- Anchorage = $36.83 per hour
- Fairbanks = $37.93 per hour
- Juneau = $40.78 per hour
Qualified applicants will attend the DPS Training Academy beginning July 2026 and January 2027.
Responsibilities- Provide physical security for courtrooms, chambers, and court premises.
- Coordinate and conduct prisoner transport.
- Serve court writs.
- Provide protective details and security for judicial officers.
- Perform process service and court security tasks.

:
Central access to outdoor recreation, office at Rabinowitz Courthouse, responsibility for judiciary security at Utquagvik.
Juneau
:
Based at Juneau Courthouse Judicial Services Office; regional paper service, evictions, prisoner transports, extraditions, courtroom security.
Anchorage
:
Downtown Anchorage on main Alaska Court System campus; largest judicial services team; local and regional prisoner transports, site security, writ services, judiciary protection.
- 18 years of age or older at hire.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Conversant in English (written and spoken).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Not disqualified from prior background investigation in the last 12 months.
- Ability to meet selection criteria, pass physical fitness test, and complete background investigation.

Background Investigation- Comprehensive background check, fingerprinting, medical and psychological evaluations, drug screening, and security clearance for criminal justice information systems.
- Conditional appointment pending completion.
- Disqualifying offenses include felony convictions and certain misdemeanor domestic‑violence convictions.

- Birth certificate, naturalization certificate, high school transcripts or GED results, college transcripts, police certification, military discharge papers, employment evaluations, driving records, and translations if applicable.
