Business Specialist II (Worthington) – First Financial Bank
Job SummaryDevelop and maintain profitable small‑business banking relationships within the Consumer Bank, acting as a trusted advisor to business owners. Identify client needs, recommend deposit, treasury, and loan products, negotiate terms, coordinate loan approvals and closings, and promote cross‑sell opportunities across the bank.
Responsibilities- Build, deepen, and grow client relationships with a portfolio of small‑business owners, focusing on credit and deposit exposure.
- Identify client needs and recommend appropriate deposit, treasury, loan products, and service solutions.
- Negotiate deposit and loan terms, coordinate approvals, closings, and account openings.
- Refer clients to internal partners and promote cross‑sell initiatives across the bank.
- Provide training, coaching, and guidance to assigned districts and banking centers to support small‑business growth.
- Partner with Retail Banking leadership and the Business Program Manager to execute consumer bank strategies.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage districts, markets, and external partners to attract, retain, and grow core small‑business relationships.
- Attend and lead market, district, and regional meetings, contributing to regional goals and prioritizing actions.
- Manage and grow client relationships with senior business owners and employees, leveraging the First Client Conversation Model.
- Stay current on regulatory compliance (BSA, CFPB, etc.) and ensure all loan and deposit activities meet guidelines.
- Support SBA loan processes, partnering with the SBA team and processors to manage claims and servicing.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to create community outreach, marketing campaigns, and product promotions for small businesses.
- 5–7 years client experience in retail banking and/or the financial services industry with a focus on business owners.
- 5–7 years sales and service experience with a proven track record of achieving sales and service goals in a retail or business banking environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in sales is preferred.
- Familiarity with consumer and small‑business credit and treasury products.
- Demonstrated success with consultative, needs‑based selling and strategic planning.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, managerial, and project‑management skills.
- Strong product knowledge of consumer and commercial deposits, investments, consumer loans, business loans, and treasury management.
- Ability to influence without authority, manage multiple tasks and projects, and work independently with limited supervision.
- Experience working with senior levels of organizations and executing strategic initiatives.
