Classroom Assistant Teacher – Head Start Worthington Overview
SMOC, a non‑profit organization, is seeking a full‑time (35‑39 hours per week) Classroom Assistant Teacher in Worthington, MN to work in the Head Start program.
Responsibilities- The Classroom Assistant Teacher engages in mutually respectful, goal‑oriented partnerships with families to promote parent‑child relationships and family well‑being; respects and responds appropriately to culture, language, values, and family structures of each family served; supports families’ safety, health, financial stability, life goals, and aspirations; enhances parent‑child relationships and supports parents’ role as the first and lifetime educators of their children; and supports families in using community resources that enhance family well‑being and children’s learning and development.
- Responsible for bus riding to and from the center, assisting the bus driver, and adhering to transportation guidelines.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials or willingness to obtain, minimum.
- Bilingual skills are not required but preferred.
- Ability to work with 3–5‑year‑old children.
- Ability to take directions from supervisor.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies.
- Confidentiality.
