Care Home Deputy Manager

We are seeking a strong non-clinical Care Home Deputy Manager to join an established elderly Care Home in the Lancing area.

A passionate and dedicated individual is required to help run a comfortable, 45 bedded Care Home in Lancing as their new Deputy Home Manager. This is a full-time, permanent Deputy Manager position paying a very competitive £40,000 per annum, working 40 hours per week, 8am-4pm / 9am-5pm, with flexibility.

The home specialises in elderly and dementia care and is rated ‘Good’ in their CQC report. They are a part of an established, family-owned care company with a total of 4 services along the West Sussex coast, and a strong reputation in the industry and local area.

As Deputy Care Home Manager, you will be part of the management team that sets the tone for delivering the very highest standards of person-centred care. You will be involved in everything from the orientation and development of staff, liaising with families and other healthcare professionals, to being responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate care records.

Previous Care Home Deputy Manager, Care Manager, or Registered Manager experience is preferred. Key duties will include team leading, assisting with care planning and audits, and the Deputy Manager will also supervise the care team on the floor, stepping in where needed to promote best practice.

Experienced Head of Cares / Unit Managers with at least NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care are encouraged to apply.

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care minimum
• Medication trained
• Experience of working within a Care Home environment
• Proficient with care plans, risk assessments, CQC notifications, safeguarding, supervisions, liaising with families and other healthcare professionals

• Carrying out audits in conjunction with the Registered Manager
• Working to maintain the standards as set out by the Health and Social Care Act, CQC, and any other relevant legislation
• Deputising for the Registered Home Manager as and when required
