Domestic Assistant

Maintaining cleanliness within Worthing Hospital. The Domestics Department is looking to recruit Domestic Assistants to join their team.

The post holder will be responsible for cleaning clinical wards/departments.

Working Hours

Between Monday and Sunday (full time and part time, will be discussed during the interview)

Work as a team member with a flexible approach within the Facilities Department. Provide a comprehensive service to the Hospital undertaking all cleaning while adhering to all Health and Safety, ensuring all areas of allocated cleaning are kept to a high standard, and any other duties deemed within the grading of the post.

Main duties of the job
  • Cleaning clinical departments to National Cleaning Standards 2021; training will be provided.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with Trust Policy.
  • To aid Hospital staff, visitors and patients, following Trust policies and procedures.
  • Guide and direct visitors and deal with them in a helpful and friendly manner.
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information using tact and diplomacy when dealing with deceased family and friends.
  • Actively participate in any departmental Information Technology initiative.

Person Specification Skills and Experience
  • Ability to understand verbal and written communication and demonstrate good command of spoken English.
  • Previous experience in a front line service. Experience in customer service awareness.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
