UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Bullingdon - a Category B male remand and resettlement prison near Bicester. This is a full time role with an average of 37.5 hours per week, including weekends and nights. You will gain experience across primary care, mental health and substance misuse including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more.
This is a full time role, an average of 37.5 hours per week, working a variety of shifts between Monday and Sunday. This role involves working weekends and nights.
Salary: £27,543 - £31,789 per annum, depending on experience. For this vacancy a "Golden Hello" joining bonus is offered in increments as follows: 6 Months – £500; 12 Months – £1000; 24 Months – £1000.
Responsibilities- Work across primary care, including clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods, obs, wound care, etc.
- Carry out induction duties, reviewing new patients to the prison and assessing, including obs, urine samples, etc.
- Work within Early Days in Custody.
- Work within substance misuse and inpatients.
- Be involved in bloods and vaccinations clinics.
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary.
- Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times.
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics.
- Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.

- Support from the wider team.
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Healthcare.
- Experience in a care setting previously — ideally from a hospital or prison setting; experience within A&E would be beneficial.
- Any experience in a prison/secure setting or hospital would be a bonus.
