Band 7 Clinical Skills and Simulation Manager (12‑month maternity cover)
Main duties- Act as specialist in simulation and clinical skills, providing communication and knowledge.
- Develop, plan and deliver a portfolio of simulation and clinical courses, advising and supporting educationalists, delegates and external stakeholders.
- Lead delivery, development and evaluation in line with clinical protocols, NHS initiatives, HEE initiatives and staff needs.
- Work closely with all Trust educational leads to ensure development of patient‑focused, collaborative protocols/practices/procedures and care.
- Work with faculty, nursing and medical schools to ensure all healthcare professionals receive simulation and clinical skills teaching linked to curriculum requirements.
- Identify resources and faculty to carry out this specialist role. Implement and manage simulation and clinical skills to ensure continued development in response to needs and effective uptake of sessions provided.
- Act independently in operating, maintaining and managing the simulation manikins and clinical skills trainers. As an expert, train appropriate colleagues in the operating and maintenance of these.
- Develop educational strategies in line with National curriculum standards.
- Lead and undertake surveys, as required, that relate to simulation and education practice, feeding back findings to the educational executive team and relevant colleagues.
- Test new simulation and training equipment and develop business cases to support the purchase of such equipment within the organisation.
- Registration with professional body (GMC/NMC etc)
- ALS, ILS, BLS Provider status
- ALS, ILS, BLS Trainer Provider status

- Presentations
- Professional teaching qualification (or currently working on)
- Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role).
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues.
