About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and committed SEMH Secondary Teacher to join a dedicated team. You will work with students aged 11–16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, supporting them to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.
This role is ideal for a teacher who believes in trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, and the power of strong relationships to transform lives.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual SEMH needs
* Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
* Build positive relationships with pupils to promote emotional regulation and engagement
* Implement behaviour support plans and contribute to EHCP targets
* Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral staff, and external agencies
* Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
* Maintain high safeguarding and professional standards at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* QTS (ECTs welcome to apply!)
* Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (school-based or alternative provision)
* Strong behaviour management skills with a nurturing, consistent approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A reflective, solution-focused mindset
* Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
