Supervisor; Groundworks and Civils

Site Supervisor - Groundworks / Civil Engineering Crawley/West Sussex and surrounding areas |

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a valued client who is looking to appoint an experienced Site Supervisor with a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering.

Projects include: 278 works, industrial parks, retail parks, agricultural buildings and civil engineering schemes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering challenging projects across the West Sussex region, with individual project values up to £5m.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing on-site operations across foundations, drainage, earthworks and external works packages, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

You'll be working in a fast-paced environment, coordinating closely with engineers, quantity surveyors and key stakeholders to maintain programme, quality and compliance standards.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar groundworks/civils role
• Proven experience delivering projects up to £3m
• Strong programme management capability
• Background in foundations, drainage, earthworks & external works
• SSSTS or SMSTS and CSCS (or equivalent)
• Up-to-date knowledge of H&S and industry compliance
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel)

• Self‑motivated and confident in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong planning and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and collaborative working ability
• Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively
