General Assistant

Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for a General Assistant to join our team at one of our independent schools in Worksop S80 3AP
. This is a term‑time only position, 28 hours a week, working 5 over 7 on a rota basis.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality‑led contract caterer working with clients across the UK, including office restaurants, independent schools and conference venues. Serving around 600 students and staff each day, the General Assistant will help with food preparation and the service of breakfast, lunch, and supper, and play a key role in delivering high‑quality, nutritious meals with an emphasis on freshness and presentation.

The assistant will also support the team by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the kitchen and dining hall, and completing other general duties as needed.

Proposed start date: 20th April 2026

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high‑pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can‑do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 15
• Be customer focused
• Have basic food knowledge
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
