Bassetlaw Bereavement Counselling - Admin AssistantThe closing date is 11 March 2026
To support Bassetlaw Bereavement Counselling in its work with bereaved clients and the volunteers who support them, with a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties.
The working days are potentially Monday and Thursday but these can be flexible and discussed further at interview.
Main duties of the jobThis post will be based at the Bassetlaw site.
Special Memories Baby Loss- Send out invitations for service and maintain records of those wishing to attend.
- Work alongside the Chaplaincy Team to manage the Special Memories Books.
- Receive and produce the new pages for the special memories books on both sites.
- Receive and process referrals.
- Assist to maintain the filing systems relating to this service – this is a paper light office and much is on spreadsheets, etc.
- Maintain links with volunteers.
- Respond to phone messages and e-mails relating to this service.
- Booking of counselling rooms.

Person Specification Knowledge & Experience- Basic computer literacy and word processing skills.
- Dealing with members of the public who may be in a distressed/anxious state of mind.
- Working in an office environment.
- Able to keep accurate records.
- Use of Excel.
- Working in a hospital environment.
- Basic computer administrative skills or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Competency in Word, spreadsheets, iCloud or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Experience in office procedures or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Team player.
- Ability to organise their own workload.
- Able to work on their own.
- Able to use filing systems – mostly paperless.
- Some flexibility in working agreed hours.
- Emotional maturity.
- Ability to recognise when the situation is too difficult and get support.
