Position: Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover) at Northside Primary School
  • Working pattern:
    Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • FTC term: 1 year, maternity cover
About This Role
  • Hours of work: 32.5
  • Working pattern:
    Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Term weeks: 38 + 1 weeks school closure, minimum paid week 44.600
  • FTC term: 1 year, maternity cover

Working under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, you will help deliver high‑quality learning experiences, provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the learning and development of pupils across the school.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning, preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Deliver small group interventions or 1:1 support as required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and needs.

    Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold our values and ethos.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
  • Has a passion for working with children and supporting their progress.

    Has experience working in a school or education setting (desirable).
  • Demonstrates good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is patient, flexible, reliable and committed to safeguarding children.
  • Holds (or is willing to work towards) a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
