An amazing opportunity has become available to join the Cardiac Catheter lab as part of a dynamic and friendly team at Worcester Royal Hospital.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our team, working Monday to Saturday on day shifts, with an on‑call service overnight. We provide an emergency service for Primary
PCI patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As a specialist centre, we carry out a wide range of specialist cardiac interventions for elective and in‑patients, including angiogram and angioplasty, complex device implants, internal cardiac defibrillators, permanent pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy defibrillators, electrophysiology and ablation.
Our team of nurses have a varied job plan; they can scrub and assist for all procedures, work as a circulating nurse, care for patients pre‑peri and post‑procedure, and deliver patient education.
Informal visits are encouraged and welcomed.
For further information or to arrange an informal visit please contact:
Cath Nicholls, Unit Manager via switchboard on extn. 39919 or Matron Kelly Fee via switchboard on Bleep 508.
Main duties of the jobThis is a busy Cardiac Cath Lab that carries out diagnostic coronary angiograms, PCI and PPCI 24/7. This would involve wearing LED coats due to X‑rays being carried out in the lab to maintain the day‑to‑day, smooth running of the Cardiac Catheter Suite and PPCI 24/7 service within the Cardiac Catheter Suite. The service runs on a shift rota basis 6 days a week and on‑call 24/7.
This varied and diverse environment ensures that no two days are the same. We work closely as part of a multidisciplinary team and cardiology department and are committed to providing high quality patient care, and thus applicants need to be highly motivated and keen to expand their knowledge and become part of our team.
We offer a Cardiology Preceptorship as well as Trust Preceptorship and the opportunity to study towards a Cardiac Care Pathway at BCU.
