Night Shift (3×12 Hours) — 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. (36 hours per week)
The Registered Nurse – NICU provides specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill newborns in a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care while supporting families and collaborating closely with physicians and neonatal care teams.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in Level III/IV NICU settings.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and manage specialized neonatal equipment (ventilators, IV pumps, etc.).
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized treatment plans.
- Educate and support families through complex neonatal conditions and discharge processes.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and hospital safety protocols.
- Current Massachusetts RN license (active or conditional).
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience in Level III or IV units.
- EPIC EHR experience required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- Availability for 36 hours per week (3×12-hour night shifts).
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred.
- Specialty certification (e.g.,
CCRN-N or RNC-NIC
) a plus. - Prior experience in teaching hospitals or large healthcare systems.
- Advanced neonatal assessment and clinical care.
- Expertise in ventilator management and IV therapy for neonates.
- Effective collaboration and communication with care teams and families.
Skills:
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Familiarity with hospital protocols and NICU best practices.
