Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse – NICU provides specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill newborns in a Level III or Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care while supporting families and collaborating closely with physicians and neonatal care teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in Level III/IV NICU settings.
  • Monitor patient status, administer medications, and manage specialized neonatal equipment (ventilators, IV pumps, etc.).
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
    .
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized treatment plans.
  • Educate and support families through complex neonatal conditions and discharge processes.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control and hospital safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
  • Current Massachusetts RN license (active or conditional).
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience in Level III or IV units.
  • EPIC EHR experience required.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
  • Availability for 36 hours per week (3×12-hour night shifts).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred.
  • Specialty certification (e.g.,
    CCRN-N or RNC-NIC
    ) a plus.
  • Prior experience in teaching hospitals or large healthcare systems.
Required Skills:
  • Advanced neonatal assessment and clinical care.
  • Expertise in ventilator management and IV therapy for neonates.
  • Effective collaboration and communication with care teams and families.
Preferred

Skills:
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Strong multitasking and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Familiarity with hospital protocols and NICU best practices.
