We’re seeking an ambitious and motivated Recruitment Advisor to join our team on a maternity cover basis. You’ll play a key role in helping the University attract, engage, and appoint talented colleagues across every area of our institution. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment where your expertise and ideas will help shape our recruitment approach.

The Recruitment Advisor leads end-to-end recruitment activity across a range of academic and professional service areas, offering advice and guidance to managers to ensure our recruitment practices are innovative, effective, and that the University is able to attract and appoint high‑quality candidates. Our Recruitment Advisors champion equality, diversity and inclusivity, and ensure these values are embedded in all recruitment and selection activity.

As well as a caseload of vacancies, each Recruitment Advisor has a project portfolio to support the development of the recruitment service and practices at the University. The successful candidate can be expected to contribute to developing the University’s approach to candidate attraction and social media, ensuring a consistently excellent candidate experience, including a smooth journey through onboarding and compliance with areas such as DBS and UKVI.

To be successful in this role, candidates will need to demonstrate experience of working in a recruitment consultant or in‑house recruiter role and demonstrate a clear understanding of how effective recruitment practice impacts the wider organisation. You will need excellent relationship management skills and the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders confidently, succinctly and persuasively, whilst demonstrating tact and sensitivity where necessary.

What's

in it for you?
  • Annual incremental increase up to £37,694, with the opportunity to progress to £41,064
  • Up to 36 days of leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays and University closure days), rising to 41 total days after 5 years service
  • Access to a range of benefits, including our Staff Retail Benefits Scheme
  • Wellbeing advice and support through our Employee Assistance Programme
  • In‑house training and development support, including CIPD support
  • A friendly, inclusive and supportive culture and work environment

We value diversity and wish to promote equality at all levels.
