Job Description

The Polar Park Security Department are looking for helpful, positive, knowledgeable, compassionate, energetic, and proactive individuals to be a part of the Polar Park Security Team. Security Team Members play an essential role in the safety and security operations for the park and are responsible for the overall well‑being of all guests, employees, and the integrity of operations.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Checking, admitting, and conducting Safety Screening Operations for guests and employees arriving at the park while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
  • Operating Safety Screening Equipment and inspecting all items in the custody, control or possession of guests and employees entering the park for “Prohibited Items.”
  • Maintaining positive control of restricted areas while ensuring that anyone who enters these areas is authorized to do so and has the appropriate credentials.
  • Regularly interacting with and communicating with guests and employees answering inquiries, providing directions, and furnishing any follow up information requested.
  • Deploying de-escalation resolutions, methods, and actions to decrease the severity of a conflict whether physical, verbal or another nature.
  • Conducting security rounds (walking patrol) as directed to amplify the security presence throughout the park to deter security breaches, theft, vandalism, malicious mischief etc.
  • Taking prompt action to suspicious activity and response to potential problems such as fighting, disorderly conduct, excessive use of alcohol, smoking, abusive language, disturbances etc.
  • Investigating reported criminal activity, civil disturbances or medical emergencies activating the appropriate 1st Responder partner (Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services) as necessary.
  • During emergency evacuations or engaged weather emergency plans, assist in the safe movement of guests and employees out of the park or away from a hazardous location to a safer area.
  • Reporting all security equipment malfunctions, customer complaints and safety concerns to a supervisor or appropriate person in charge of that operation.
  • Assisting with pregame and postgame security functions and control (e.g., gate set-up, early entry activities, crowd management etc.).
  • Writing and submitting Electronic Incident Reports (as applicable) in a timely manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications/Characteristics
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a Criminal Offender Record Information background check.
  • Ability to work within a fast‑paced and frequently changing team environment.
  • Availability to work the majority of 2026 home games, special events, and in‑season holidays consisting of early morning or late evening hours.
  • Excellent people skills working well under pressure while preserving a service‑oriented personality.
  • Display a high degree of organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.
  • Physically able to navigate ballpark ramps or stairs and walk or stand on flat ground for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.
Preferred Skills
  • Bilingual, multilingual, and/or ASL Certified
  • Previous security, public safety, and/or military experience.
  • Training with metal detecting equipment such as a walk‑through metal detector or hand held magnetometer wand.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid Certified.
