Posting Date: 2 days ago
Salary Range: $58,656.00 – $
Position SummaryA postdoctoral position is available in the Lawson Lab at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. The lab utilizes zebrafish as a model system to study the development of the circulatory and lymphatic systems.
Current Projects Focus On Two Areas- Developmental nature of vascular anomalies: determining how developmental defects associated with known human mutations result in defective vascular or lymphatic function. This includes identifying molecular targets, linking cellular mechanisms and defects to disease phenotypes, and performing small‑molecule screening to identify therapeutics.
- Understanding vascular mural cell development: dissecting transcriptional regulatory networks required for pericyte development by genetically analyzing candidate transcription factors to determine how they regulate pericyte specification.
Develop and apply cutting‑edge approaches such as conditional genetics, CRISPR‑based gene editing, single‑cell molecular analyses, and in‑vivo time‑lapse imaging for all projects.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications- Strong experience in molecular biology, evidenced by an exceptional publication record.
- Prior expertise in genome editing in model systems; experience with other model organisms preferred.
- High motivation and technical competence demonstrated through outstanding research achievements.
