Position: Registered Nurse - Home Infusion

Overview

Promptcare is looking for an experienced and compassionate Infusion Nurse to join our team. As an Infusion Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients in their homes, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans and administering intravenous medications and treatments. You will educate patients and their families about home care, medications, and treatments. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a dedication to delivering high-quality care.

On-call requirements are based on region and state.

Full-Time, day shifts, 40 hours per week with on-call responsibilities


Location:

Worcester, MA and surrounding area

Requirements
  • Must be a Registered Nurse in the state of employment and in good standing
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
  • Professional Liability Insurance
  • CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of PIV, Mid-Line, PICC Line, Tunneled Catheters, and Ports
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a home infusion nurse, or equivalent home nursing experience
  • ED experience preferred
  • Proficiency in IV insertion, vascular access devices, and infusion pumps
  • Heart failure nurse certification/training highly desirable
  • Strong pediatric peripheral IV skills preferred
  • Certified Nurse Infusionist (CRNI) preferred
  • Experience with IV therapies such as inotropes, intravenous immunoglobulin, and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) is a major advantage
Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial nursing assessments to determine patient suitability and safety for home infusion therapy
  • Train patients and caregivers in procedures and equipment
  • Develop and revise patient care plans with input from patient, family, Pharmacist, and physician
  • Visit assigned patients, document compliance and tolerance to therapies
  • Provide direct patient care as ordered and per state law
  • Assume on-call responsibility as assigned
  • Inventory patient supplies and coordinate with pharmacy
  • Coordinate patient care with other homecare agencies as needed
  • Counsel patients on therapy management, side effects, and other concerns
  • Collaborate with Pharmacist on therapy changes and supportive measures
  • Plan daily routes efficiently to minimize travel time
  • Submit nursing notes for each visit into the enterprise system immediately after IV therapy
  • Triages problems in the field per company standards
  • Maintain knowledge of Prompt Care SOPs and ensure compliance
  • Deliver high-quality, "white glove" service to patients and families
  • Submit monthly travel expense reports
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude and participate in company activities
  • Per Diem/Part-time RNs should make reasonable efforts to provide services as requested
  • Hours may vary due to home infusion needs; weekend and evening hours required

Physical Demands

This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, climbing, and lifting up to 30 pounds or more.
