Pay Rate: $23.40 – $25.00/hr (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Employment Type: Temp to Hire
The Setter/Drawer II is responsible for preparing, loading, and unloading products for kiln, oven, or furnace firing. This role ensures products are stacked, burned, and inspected correctly to meet manufacturing quality and production schedules. The position is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and critical to maintaining consistent product quality.

- Accurate stacking and burn sequencing reduce defects and rework.
- Safe material handling protects both employees and equipment in a high‑heat environment.
- Plan and build kiln car configurations based on manufacturing instructions.
- Stack products in specified patterns on racks, platforms, or tunnel kiln cars.
- Use deck batts, blocks, clamps, and fillers to prepare products for firing.
- Select products by burn type and firing schedule dates.
- Draw finished product from kilns manually or using hoists and truck cars.
- Move product to stripping areas for visible inspection.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Repetitively lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and positioning materials.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Consistent attention to detail and adherence to firing instructions.
- Manufacturing environment with moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to heat, fumes, and airborne dust.
- Moderate noise levels.
- PPE may include gloves, safety shoes, respirators or dust masks, hard hats, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
- High school diploma or GED.
- General manufacturing skills including:
- Blueprint reading.
- Intermediate math skills (standard and metric measurements).
- Use of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and measuring tapes.
- Basic computer skills.
- Approximately 3 months of on-the-job experience to work independently.
