The State Managing Broker (MB) plays a crucial role in overseeing broker activities and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in the real estate industry.

The State Managing Broker (MB) is responsible for all broker supervision, transaction oversight, ethics enforcement, and compliance operations within their licensed state. They ensure all real estate activities are consistent with company standards, state regulations, and NAR/MLS rules. The MB reports directly to the Chief Brokerage Officer (CBO) and works in close coordination with local operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervision & Legal Compliance
  • Maintain the brokerage license for the state
  • Approve all state-level policies, disclosures, and transaction documents
  • Perform compliant audit reviews of transaction files
  • Oversee earnest money procedures specific to state law
  • Manage regulatory inspections and audits
  • Ensure adherence to advertising and team regulations
  • Transaction Oversight
  • Review offers, agency forms, listing agreements
  • Resolve complex transaction issues
  • Approve escrow instructions (brokerage side)
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping
  • Participate in high-risk file reviews
  • Ethics & Professional Standards
  • Lead ethics training sessions
  • Handle consumer complaints
  • Conduct internal investigations
  • Enforce Code of Ethics (local + NAR)
  • Work with CBO to resolve escalated disputes
  • Education & Agent Development
  • Provide onboarding for new agents
  • Run CE and in-house training programs
  • Train on state-specific laws and compliance topics
  • Supervise mentorship programs
  • Leadership & Communication
  • Represent the company in state-level professional associations
  • Provide monthly reporting to the CBO
  • Participate in weekly Managing Broker syncs
  • Support recruiting via agent meetings and presentations
