Machine Learning Engineer

Salary: $70.00 USD Hourly - $80.00 USD Hourly

One of our clients in the biopharmaceutical industry is looking to hire a Machine Learning Engineer. This role focuses on supporting biologics and genetic medicine R&D by building and deploying advanced ML models on a hybrid cloud (on-prem + AWS) platform.

1+ year contract with possibility for extensions

Hybrid schedule (3 days onsite in Worcester, MA per week)

Responsibilities

• Build, optimize, and deploy machine learning models within a hybrid on-prem/AWS platform.
• Design and maintain ML pipelines for predicting biologics develop ability, immunogenicity, and manufacturability.
• Work with protein sequences, structures, and multi-modal omics datasets to develop predictive models.
• Implement and evaluate methods including deep learning, transformers, graph neural networks, and probabilistic models.
• Automate training, validation, and deployment workflows using tools such as Sage Maker and MLflow.
• Ensure reproducibility, traceability, and compliance within regulated scientific environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning or computational biology.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and common ML libraries (PyTorch, Tensor Flow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face).
• Hands-on experience deploying models and building ML pipelines in AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
• Understanding of protein structure, antibody sequences, or biologics-related domain knowledge.
• Experience with ML operations, including model versioning, experiment tracking, and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to work collaboratively with scientists, bioinformaticians, and cloud/data engineers.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate scientific problems into computational solutions.
