Manager I, Developer Advocacy – Datadog
What You’ll Do- Lead a team of Developer Advocates, guiding work priorities, identifying new career opportunities, and fostering a positive, high‑performance culture.
- Contribute to defining the team’s OKRs and strategy, driving execution.
- Ensure your team consistently ships high‑quality output, removing technical and procedural roadblocks.
- Strike a balance between management and hands‑on delivery, contributing high‑quality technical content (videos, talks) as needed.
- Work across internal teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing) to support Advocate initiatives and prioritize requests.
- Former software developer, SRE, or other technical practitioner with strong judgment and experience building/maintaining production systems.
- 2‑5 years managing a small team, coaching performance, guiding careers, breaking down complex projects.
- Experienced developer advocate, skilled at reaching developers across multiple channels (written content, conference talks, workshops, live streaming, open source, community events).
- Comfortable with at least two programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Node.js, bash) and familiar with modern infrastructure such as IaaS cloud services and containers.
