Overview
Payroll & Workers’ Compensation Specialist – Hybrid Position | $55,000–$60,000

You’ll own payroll accuracy and Workers’ Compensation administration for our multi-state workforce, ensuring every paycheck is right, every claim is handled with care and compliance, and every record is audit-ready.
Responsibilities- Run flawless bi-weekly payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple states
- Coordinate wage replacement during Workers’ Comp leaves
- Process payroll and validate reports with confidence
- Ensure HRIS data is clean, accurate, and audit-ready
- Communicate with employees, managers, carriers, and partners
- Catch potential issues before they become problems and improve workflows
- Uphold internal controls and maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality
- Turning complex regulations into simple, reliable systems
- Being the go-to expert when something is high-stakes or complicated
- Maintaining accuracy and accountability in all payroll and WC processes
- Owning outcomes and working independently
- Processing payroll and validating reports with confidence
- Coordinating wage replacement during Workers’ Comp leaves
- Communicating with employees, managers, carriers, and partners
- Catching issues before they become problems and strengthening internal controls
- Loves accuracy and accountability
- Thrives on ownership and responsibility
- Enjoys systems, structure, and problem-solving
- Knows payroll is about people, not just numbers
- Wants their work to be meaningful and respected
- 3–5 years of payroll experience (multi-state strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting Workers’ Compensation administration
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfort working in HRIS systems (UKG is a plus)
- High integrity and respect for confidentiality
- Confidence working independently and owning outcomes
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-site environments
- Payroll certification (FPC)
