Overview

Payroll & Workers’ Compensation Specialist – Hybrid Position | $55,000–$60,000

You’ll own payroll accuracy and Workers’ Compensation administration for our multi-state workforce, ensuring every paycheck is right, every claim is handled with care and compliance, and every record is audit-ready.

Responsibilities
  • Run flawless bi-weekly payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple states
  • Coordinate wage replacement during Workers’ Comp leaves
  • Process payroll and validate reports with confidence
  • Ensure HRIS data is clean, accurate, and audit-ready
  • Communicate with employees, managers, carriers, and partners
  • Catch potential issues before they become problems and improve workflows
  • Uphold internal controls and maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality

What You Bring
  • 3–5 years of payroll experience (multi-state strongly preferred)
  • Experience supporting Workers’ Compensation administration
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfort working in HRIS systems (UKG is a plus)
  • High integrity and respect for confidentiality
  • Confidence working independently and owning outcomes
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-site environments
  • Payroll certification (FPC)
  • A passion for improving processes and building better systems
