I.

Major Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc., collecting and documenting patient health status and monitoring progress according to standard procedures.
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point‑of‑Care (POC) tests in accordance with clinic/office standards.
  • May prepare, document, and administer non‑intravenous injections as directed or required by office/clinic, within scope of practice.
  • Assist in performing routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
  • Review laboratory results and ensure abnormal results are immediately brought to the attention of physicians and others, as appropriate.
II. Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association. If not available upon hire, BLS/HS must be obtained within 3 months of hire; otherwise the employee may be terminated or may apply for another qualifying position.
  • Medical Assistant credential approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.). Must be obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer; otherwise the employee will be terminated or may apply for another qualifying position. Senior Leadership may grant an extended grace period for extenuating circumstances.
III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

The position requires work indoors in a patient‑care office or clinic environment. Hand dexterity, hearing and vision are required to respond to patients or providers, adjust equipment, observe and describe patient observations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work is of medium demand, involving standing, walking most of the time with occasional pushing of heavy equipment and frequent bending.

$3,000 sign‑on bonus
