Adjunct Faculty – Pharmacy Practice Laboratories

The School of Pharmacy seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Professional Pharmacy Practice Laboratory (PPP Lab) summer course in the accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program. The selected candidate will have responsibilities teaching clinical courses to graduates.
Responsibilities- Deliver didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction via multiple formats (in‑person, online, or blended) in the PPP Lab.
- Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
- Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate real‑world applications of concepts covered.
- Support incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum and co‑curricular experiences.
- Use the University’s learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials, and to communicate with students.
- Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments by video conference, phone or email.
- Provide service including student mentoring, ongoing course development and assessment.
- Guide individual students within the lab as they complete their simulated pharmacy tasks.
- Facilitate various simulation activities within the lab.
- Accurately and objectively assess students’ lab work.
- Respond to student questions about grades and performance during scheduled review sessions.
- Assist with the breakdown and setup of labs each day.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
- Commit to at least one lab session per week, ideally on the same day each week.
The semester starts May 11th and ends July 31st. The PPP Lab is offered on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Adjuncts must be present from 7:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. Additional hours may be available for those able to stay for scheduled afternoon review sessions. Schedule yet to be determined.
Requirements Required:- Minimum of B.S. in Pharmacy
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a licensed pharmacist in the U.S.
- Active New Hampshire pharmacy license in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations (medication dispensing, calculations, pharmacy law, communicating with patients and other healthcare providers, etc.)
- Comfort working with computerized pharmacy systems and drug information databases (e.g., Lexicomp)
- Good communication and teaching skills
- Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
- Previous experience in the PPP Lab as either an adjunct or former student
- Experience working as a licensed pharmacist in the U.S. within the last 5 years
- Higher education teaching experience
Hiring Range: $50/hr
The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
