Position Summary

Occupational Therapists are primarily responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing Occupational Therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal and state standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure the highest quality of resident care. They evaluate a patient’s condition, devise a customized rehabilitation and treatment plan, and aim to develop, maintain, and restore maximum functional ability and independence to maximize quality of life.

Education, Experience, and

Licensure/Certification s

Must have an active state license or be license eligible and meet the educational requirements as defined for that license type. Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct Occupational Therapy services as well as programs and activities in accordance with current regulations and guidelines governing the skilled nursing facility.
  • Maintain and complete accurate documentation, department records and reports.
  • Ensure effective communication regarding Occupational Therapy programs.
  • Initiate referrals when appropriate and in accordance with Occupational Therapy Department procedures.
  • Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
  • Interpret and communicate evaluation findings to residents, family and other team members.
