Job SummaryMedical Assistant in a Pediatric Cardiology clinic in Worcester, MA. This role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non‑clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include reviewing provider schedules, greeting patients in the waiting room, assisting with check‑in and check‑out processes, हिस्सा vitals, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.
EssentialFunctions
- Schedule and confirm appointments.
- Check in and check out patients.
- Review provider schedules.
- Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, interview patients to obtain medical information, measure vital signs, weight, and height, and record this information in the patient’s medical record.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, and organize educational materials to reinforce patient education.
- Perform general office duties (answer phones, maintain supplies, take dictation, complete insurance forms) while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer‑service approach.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens,Filters them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated. Implement departmental quality initiatives such as patient identification and hand hygiene.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
ExperienceDirect medical assistant experience or medical field work 1–2 years required.
