Job DescriptionThe Laboratory Analyst has a solid understanding of microbiological concepts, practices, and procedures, and working knowledge of media formulations. The analyst works independently when necessary.
Must live a commutable distance to Worcester, MA. Interviews and training will take place in Cranston, NH.
Compensation: $19–20/hour (DOE) plus benefits.
Schedule:
Mon‑Fri 9am–6pm.
- Receive and log all samples.
- Ensure correct analysis is performed on all samples.
- Perform QC/QA tests for all analyses.
- Utilize all QC/QA documentation and logbooks.
- Assist MLT III with QA/QC tasks.
- Input and review bench sheet data into the Laboratory Information Management System (Element).
- Interface with clients.
- Conduct laboratory tasks as needed.
- Revise SOPs as required.
- Order supplies with MLT III and LD.
- Run routine and non‑routine specialized microbiological analyses.
- Perform field work when necessary.
- Prepare media for analysis.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years in a microbiology laboratory performing environmental analyses.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good customer‑service skills.
- Physical ability to perform light lifting and housekeeping duties.
- Tolerance for unpleasant odors.
- Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Resume includes authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
