Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant position is fulltime onsite position located at Worcester Health Care for the Homeless (WHCH), which provides trauma-informed medical and behavior health services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The goal is to create a welcoming, empowering, and dignified medical home for those we serve. Our team-based approach provides care at the clinic located at 199 Chandler Street as well as various outreach clinics within the City of Worcester.
In addition to medical and behavior health services, patients can access case management, recovery coaches, and Office Based Assisted Treatment (OBAT) for substance-use disorder.
Under the supervision of an RN/LPN, the Medical Assistant provides direct clinical service to patients by performing basic patient care tasks; completes unit clerk responsibilities as assigned.
Educational RequirementsHigh School diploma or GED required. Must be graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Experience RequiredPrevious experience in primary care or other health care setting preferred. Demonstrated computer proficiency required.
Professional Licensure/Special Skills and Certification Required- Medical Assistant Certification
- CPR/BLS Certification required
Reports directly to the Director of the Worcester Health Care for the Homeless
Monday-Friday; 9:00am-5:30pm.
