Clinical Psychologist - Outpatient Psychiatry

This full‑time benefitted position is based within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and offers the opportunity for an academic appointment commensurate with experience.

Hiring Range: $128,000 – $133,000. Please note that the final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

• Conducting diagnostic evaluations and evidence‑based assessment for adult outpatient population
• Providing individual and group psychotherapy using focused, evidence‑based models of care
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to provide high‑quality mental health care
• Maintaining documentation of patient care in accordance with professional standards and all specified departmental policies and procedures as well as health and safety regulations
• Supervision of trainees (psychiatry residents, psychology interns, etc.) with an expectation that psychologists receiving an academic appointment will provide academic service outside of their other job duties
• Enhancing personal professional growth and development through participation in continuing‑education opportunities

• Requires a Ph.D./Psy.

D. in clinical or counseling psychology.

• Requires training and experience in evidence‑based psychotherapy models.

• Facility in teaching professionals, lay public, consumers, as well as trainees such as medical students, residents, and psychology and social work interns, is desirable.

• Interest in areas of sub‑specialization and a desire to grow academically within an area of expertise.

UMMMG Outpatient Psychiatry Services is the primary teaching site for trainees of the UMass Chan Medical School. In addition to our training mission, our clinical mission is to partner with our primary care colleagues to serve the behavioral health needs of the patients who receive their primary care within the UMMH system. In addition to providing evidence‑based psychotherapy, psychologists also provide consultation and assist with treatment plan development for patients who may be referred to other locations for treatment.
