Job SummaryThe Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive primary care to patients in an outpatient environment, coordinating care under the supervision of a board‑certified physician. The PA acts as a collaborative member of the clinical team, working across departments to deliver patient care.
Essential Functions- Delivers direct primary care and preventative services to assigned children, adolescents, and adults
- Develops therapeutic care plans for prevention, management, and maintenance of good health
- Provides health education and counseling to patients
- Provides care for acute and chronic illness and urgent care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring
- Collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, training and assisting other team members in patient care management
- Follows established practice standards and evidence‑based clinical guidelines
- Provides prenatal/postnatal services and uncomplicated pregnancy care in partnership with physicians, as approved in the clinical privileges request
- Provides family planning counseling and services
- Consults with physician partner and refers complex patients to subspecialty care as appropriate
- Maintains and updates Electronic Health Records (EHR) systematically, completing required documentation within the clinical director’s time expectations
- Ensures patient records confidentiality in line with health‑center policies, Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards; monitors HIPAA compliance
- Attends trainings, weekly provider and team meetings, and participates in practice, administrative, and quality improvement projects as assigned
- Provides clinical supervision and mentoring to PA, medical, and PA students under the clinical director’s agreement
- Works a fluctuating schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as approved by the clinical director
- Supports an environment that is responsible and sensitive to the diverse needs of staff and clients, contributing to the mission statement
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master’s Degree as a Physician Assistant
- Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Massachusetts
- 3+ years of experience as a PA in a related field to primary care (a plus)
- $110,000‑$120,000 per year
- Qualifies for the HRSA Loan Repayment Program
