Nuclear Med/PET Technologist – Shields Health

We have a full-time opportunity to join our team! The hours will be:
Monday & Thursday, 6am‑4pm @ Shrewsbury St.;
Friday, 7:30am‑4pm @ Harrington Hospital;
Saturday, 6am‑2:30pm @ Heywood Hospital.

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows.
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re‑supply equipment and rooms as needed.

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which he/she is employed to work.
• Must be certified in CPR.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Must have a minimum of one‑year prior nuclear medicine experience. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must be proficient in starting IVs.
• Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties. Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty‑five pounds.

Pay range for this position is $40 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
